K|W Simply the Best DM/TDM/CTF server(s) are back and can be reached on the Internet.

Krillin’s World is currently playingFree-For-All Team Deathmatch.

As you should be aware there are two aspects to Quake 3; one being a server side and the other being a client side. For those new to what a server and client is, well, it's simple. A client connects to a server remotely. A server is a host for the client to connect to.

There is also a difference in the way Quake 3 utilizes your operating system. So please be aware of this issue before diving into this. For the most part I will show you what works for both the 32 bit kernel like Windows 9x and Windows ME and the NT 5.0 kernel like Windows 2000 or Windows XP. But I do need to state this now. Running a Quake 3 server on Windows ME, AKA the forgotten child, is going to cause problems if you do not know how to set up the Operating System and the networking components properly. What do I mean? Well only the pro’s, like myself, know the ins and outs of an Operating System and know how to "feel" out the Operating System to ensure proper stability which will produce a flawless Server. However, the 32 bit kernel is not fully crash proof and is still vulnerable to crashes and the blue screen of death. This includes Win 9x as well.

As for the client, well there are a lot of aspects to cover but this is all based on the performance of what you have “under the hood.” But not only does processor speed matter but RAM size, motherboard system bus, Video Cards, and Network Cards, or modems if you are less fortunate, do affect the overall performance. With this said and understood, you use this information at your own risk. I make no guarantees or promises that what I will reveal to you will truly work for your PC. After all, every PC is not identical in hardware. Also note that Krillin's World DM/TDM/CTF is an ordinary computer with these specs: UPDATED. Pentium 2.0cGHz w/400 FSB, with 512MB PC3200 DDR Memory (400MHz) and Linksys LNE100TX Network Interface Card with Windows Server 2003 R2 and Western Digital 40GB / 120GB / 120GB 7200RPM Hard Drives!

Old System: Pentium III 1000MHz, with 512MB SDRAM, 133FSB and Linksys LNE100TX Network Interface Card with a Western Digital 30GB 7200RPM Hard Drive running under Windows XP Professional™.
